The Atlantic Hurricane season was not only the most active hurricane season on record, but it was also within the top 10 costliest seasons as well, coming in at number 7. According to the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), the records date back to about 1851, and 2020 has now dethroned 2005 as the busiest year for storms.
By the end of November, there were a total of 30 named storms with 12 of those making landfall.
